Opening of “Adventure in New Found Land” 

The exhibition, “Adventure in New Found Land”, co-organised by Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Chung Tian Art Gallery and World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc. (WAMCI), was held from 3rdAugust to 15thSeptember 2019 at Chung Tian Art Gallery, Rochedale, Queensland. This exhibition invited four painting artists from Taiwan, including Tracy Hsu, Cecilia Feng, Hsi-An Chou and Chieh Wang, and curated by Melody Chen, the Founding President of WAMCI.

The opening ceremony was grandly celebrated on 1:30 PM, 3 August with guests including Deputy Director Jimmy Ling representing Director General Bruce Hung of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Brisbane, Cr Steven Huang, Brisbane City Councilor, Shu-Fang Chen, Director of Queensland Taiwan Centre, Wayne Ko, Consultant of Overseas Community Affairs Council, Taiwan, and other community leaders from art sector, local media, and multicultural communities. WAMCI was represented by President Edward Lin, Vice President Susan Yang, and Executive Secretary Michael Kuo. 


Abbess Chueh-Shan of FGS Chung-Tian Temple welcomed the artists and guests, and accepted the donated paintings from the artists. Abbess Chueh-Shan also presented FGS’s publication as a gift to each of the exhibiting artists. The artists shared their thoughts about arts and philosophy of their work. Mr Ling thanked WAMCI for the long-term commitment in bridging the art and cultural excellence between Taiwan and Australia. Cr Huang expressed his appreciation for WAMCI’s dedicated efforts in promoting arts for the multicultural society of Queensland. 




The ceremony concluded with a ribbon cutting and a group photography.
