15th Australian Citizenship Ceremony

15th Australian Citizenship Ceremony to celebrate Australia Day

SunPAC Australian Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday, 26 January 2017 (3:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.) to celebrate Australia Day hosted by World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc. (WAMCI) was the 15th WAMCI Australian Citizenship Ceremony.

Acquiring Australian Citizenship enables those doing so to participate fully in our inclusive society, realise aspirations and achieve their full potential, regardless of their race, background, gender, religion, language or place of birth.

The culture and traditions that migrants bring to Australia, including their language and religion, contribute in making Australia a vibrant community.

Eddie Lei, WAMCI Citizenship Committee Chair was born in Taiwan and now an Australian Citizen. “Taking the pledge to become a citizen of Australia was one of the most enjoyable days of my life.” Eddie shared while reflecting that: “Australian citizenship entails responsibilities and privileges.”

Lewis Lee OAM was the Master of Ceremonies. He is the WAMCI Life Honorary Advisor and the Citizenship Ceremony will be under his full guidance. Melody Chen (WAMCI Life Honorary President) was the Host representing World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc.

Mr. Graham Perrett MP, Federal Member for Moreton was the Presiding Officer over the event and joined by other Official Party/VIP Guests.

The SunPAC Australian Citizenship Ceremony was 143 candidates from 40 different countries.

This event was supported by the Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiative Fund and Cr. Steven Huang.
